Smithtown Kickers

The Kickers Special Soccer team is comprised of boys and girls from 5 to 21 years of age who meet for an hour on Saturday for a nine week season each spring and fall. Our players are physically and /or mentally challenged with a varyingdegree of ability. Though we have a number of adult Coaches working with approximately 20 players, we enlist teens from the community who volunteer to work one-on-one or as needed with our players. The “Buddy” may hold the players hand, provide instruction, redirect or just shadow a player. New players are always welcome to join the team and we are always looking for buddies to work with the team. Buddies should be 14 years or older and have some experience working with autistic or handicapped children, or teens.
