Fields of Green

The waiting has ended. On April 8, the Town of Smithtown granted permission to our club to begin using the fields at Moriches Soccer Complex. The difference this year... new turf! After over a decade of nearly constant use, both turf fields at Moriches received a makeover that could be instantly seen and felt. The faces of the coaches and players were that of pure joy as they walked onto the new fields for the first time!

There will be no time to break in the fields. The soccer only lined fields will host full evenings of training and sun up to sun down games all weekend throughout the Spring. All our U13 and up teams will once again look forward to playing at home on a couple of the top level fields on Long Island.

The Smithtown Kickers would like to thank Supervisor Edward Wehrheim, the Smithtown Town Council, Town Parks Maintenance Director Joseph Arico, and Superintendent of Recreation Thomas McCaffery for making the re-turfing a reality and for all their communication and cooperation. We especially appreciate their commitment to ensuring the fields would be ready for the opening of our LIJSL season.
