Top Soccer
( The Outreach Program of US Soccer) or "Special Soccer" is a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities, organized by youth soccer association volunteers. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl, who has a mental or physical disability.

The Smithtown Kickers' TOP Soccer program is one of the largest of its kind in the region. It's run by a group of amazing volunteers and is available to all children with special needs. The programs runs on Saturdays during the Fall and Spring seasons.

This program is provided FREE of charge by the Smithtown Kickers.

The Smithtown Kickers Special Soccer team is comprised of boys and girls from 4 years of age and up who want to have fun playing soccer.  Our players are physically and / or mentally challenged with a wide range of experience and skill.   Our goal is to help every child perform to the best of their ability in a supportive environment.  We welcome new players, and our activities will help teach them to dribble, learn some basic moves, how to pass and how to shoot.

In addition to our coaches, we have teen-aged players from our travel soccer program who volunteer to be "buddies".   We will pair each player with an appropriate aged buddy, who will help teach, direct the player in activities, and make sure they have a good time.  The Smithtown Kickers have run our Special Soccer Program for over 25 years and are part of Long Island Junior TOPS (The Outreach Program for Soccer) – which includes 27 different clubs and over 600 players.

We play a 9-week season in the Spring and Fall. Our sessions are on Saturdays from 3:15 until 4:15 at New York Ave school (26 New York Ave, Smithtown).  Besides our regular sessions, we participate in several special events each season, including a TOPS sponsored soccer festival with barbeque and trophies.
